Abstract | HTML | PDF
The KDIGO process in renal transplantation is an important initiative in the efforts to improve the care of the patient and the outcome of renal transplantation. The issues involve not only management of the direct consequences of transplantation but also of the medical complications of the usual drugs and the associated morbidities that are common in patients with end stage renal disease. With this in mind, the publication of the KDIGO Clinical Practice Guideline for the Care of Kidney Transplant Recipients represents a major event. The American Journal of Transplantation is pleased to present this to our readers, and hopes that it will have an impact on the care and the outcomes in this group of patients.
