LITERATURE Watch

Literature Watch is a monthly section in AJT that scours the highest quality basic science journals for findings and discoveries that have potential implications for transplantation despite their origins outside the field. Each month, Dr. Bromberg introduces and provides brief commentary on topics that might stimulate new ideas for applications in transplantation, or entice readers to look beyond their usual sources of information. The feature is not designed to be comprehensive, but rather to be somewhat idiosyncratic, drawing from journals and areas with which the editorial board has sensed a potential link to transplantation. It also will venture into speculation as to what fields may emerge in the coming years as relevant to AJT's readers. Above all, it will strive to be informative and even provocative, with the hope that it will stimulate readers to pursue avenues they might not have otherwise considered.
